FABS (Friends of Abbeymead School) ? Annual General Meeting
Just to remind you that we will be holding the AGM for our parent group, FABS, at 3.15pm on Monday 6th November in Year 5. Please support this group if you are able to. The work they do for us is invaluable. If you are keen to join the group, but are unable to attend on Monday, please let us know and we will arrange for one of the committee members to contact you.

SCHOOL NURSE
Mrs J Bridgeman, School nurse, will be holding drop-in sessions here at school on the following dates. If you have any questions about any child related health issues, please call in:-

PHOTOGRAPHER
On Thursday 9th November, the photographers will be in school taking individual children?s photographs. If you have any pre-school children who you?d like to have photographed with their siblings as a family group, please bring them in first thing that morning. These photos will be taken first, though I would ask that family members wait in the staff room until they are called.

NEW CAR SEAT REGULATIONS ? from 18/09/06
Since the new laws regarding car seats for children, we need booster seats to help us transport children from school to sports events etc.. Have you got a spare? Do you have a friend, relative, neighbour ?? who may have a spare? If so, please let us know. Thank you.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Just to remind you that boxes can come into school until Wed. next week. We have a limited number of leaflets left if anyone would like one. Thank you for your support.

TESCO VOUCHERS
Get collecting ???? Double vouchers in Tesco from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th November.

We are currently collecting vouchers for the Tesco Sport for Schools. This is the last week that you can collect vouchers. We?d really appreciate your help in boosting our collection so that we can exchange vouchers for sports equipment. Thank you.

WATER BOTTLES
I would just like to confirm our original intentions regarding the use of water bottles (with sports tops) in the classroom. These are intended purely for the purposes of allowing children constant access to water throughout the day. You may need to remind your children about this ? any other drinks such as squash, juice etc. will only be allowed at lunchtime or breaktimes.

GOVERNOR VACANCIES
We currently have vacancies for LEA governors to join our governing body here at Abbeymead School. Please give this some thought and, if you are interested, contact one our current governors via the school office or talk to our Clerk to the Governors, Chrissy Rushworth, if you need more information.

HARVEST FESTIVAL
A great big thank you for the response to our request for harvest donations. The team from ?The Food Bank? went away with a very big smile on their faces after collecting the food.

SCHOOL CLOSURES
Please note that should we ever have to close the school due to bad weather during the colder months, please listen to any announcements on local radio from 7am onwards. If Abbeymead School is not mentioned in any bulletins then the school will be open.

POORLY CHILDREN
May we remind you that if your child is absent from school you must phone the office before 9am or ask a friend/neighbour to let the office or class teacher know.
