Y2 parents need to try to ensure no holidays are taken during May. Children in both classes will be undertaking SAT tasks.

PARENTS EVENINGS ? 20th March and 22nd March
Just to remind you that ?signing up? sheets for parents to book appointment times with teachers will be available in class bases from the week beginning Monday 5th March. Please remember that if you have any lengthy or complex issues to discuss with your child?s teacher, you may wish to contact school to arrange a separate meeting on another day. The purpose of the parents? evening meetings is to enable a brief progress update with the teacher where areas for improvement can also be discussed.

SPRING TERM PLANS
You should have received a copy of the term?s outline plan for your child?s learning programme. Please use this opportunity to follow what is happening in school as this makes such a difference to your child?s enthusiasm and involvement. Feel free to contribute relevant ideas of your own to the topics, through contact with class teachers. Along with targets, reports, parents evenings and informal meetings, these topic webs are a valuable way of ensuring that parents have sufficient information about their child?s classwork and achievements. As always, myself or any of the staff are available should you have any specific queries or concerns regarding curriculum coverage or individual progress.

HALL
We hope that you will be able to visit school to see the assemblies on the 28th, 29th, 30th March and to our newly extended hall. We do need to ask that no stiletto heels are worn because of the nature of the new floor.

STAFF NEWS
Mrs Marika Markham has decided not to return to school following the birth of her son Oliver. We are pleased to say, however, that she will still be a familiar face in school as a supply teacher and I am sure the children will be delighted to see her. Miss Rachael Bick will continue teaching the class in year 2 until the end of this academic year.

Congratulations to Sarah Stubbs on the safe arrival of her second daughter, Imogen.

FOR SALE
After building work we have a tall narrow 6 door (5 doors lock) metal cabinet available. It may be useful in a shed or garage. If you are interested, please feel free to drop in at the main office and ask to have a look at it. Bids to buy it should be put into a named, sealed, envelope and given to the office by 3pm on Wed. 28th February. Buyer to collect. Happy bidding.

100 CLUB WINNERS
Congratulations to the January winners:-
1st Tanya Dunn
2nd Jill Carter
3rd Lisa Dutton

Anyone who still wishes to join the 100 Club can do so at any time, just ask a member of the FABS committee or the office.

DOGS - Reminder
Can I remind our dog owners that there are some children who are quite frightened of dogs, however large or small, and if they encounter one on the way into or leaving school it can make them quite upset. No dogs are allowed on the school grounds at all, and we ask that dogs are not tied up near any entrance onto the campus. Thank you.

PACKED LUNCHES
Please remember not to include fizzy drinks, sticky sweets, lollipops or chewing gum in your child?s lunchbox.

FABS - Yellow Moon Catalogues
You should have received the Yellow Moon fundraising catalogues via pupil post recently. All orders are to be made directly with the company, using the ?source code? on the back of the catalogue, so that our school can be identified. We will get up to 25% cash back. Share the catalogue with your neighbours, family and friends to boost orders if you can!

GOVERNORS ? Information Sharing
During the refurbishment you may have noticed that the governors information board has been taken down from the admin. corridor. Please note that if anyone would like to see governors minutes they only need to ask Mrs Rushworth in the office.

NEWSPAPER
Our newspaper club are currently producing the first edition of ?Abbeynews?. They have been to the Echo newspaper offices in Cheltenham this week and gaining experience in how to become young reporters. The paper will hold many current articles informing you of school news and will be on sale later this term. They are also selling advertising space. If you have a business to promote, please let us know. We can be contacted here at school on a Tuesday from 3 ? 4pm. If you could provide us with a suitable advert, we will let you know the likely cost.

WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS
Please find attached information relating to courses being held in March and April at GLOSCAT in the Cheltenham Campus, Process Elizabeth Way.
