100 CLUB WINNERS
Congratulations to the February winners:-
1st Vicky Matthews
2nd Andy Roselli
3rd Richard Grieve
Anyone who still wishes to join the 100 Club can do so at any time, just ask a member of the FABS committee or the office.
Y3 RESIDENTIAL TRIP
One of the year 4 classes had a great two day residential visit to the Wilderness Centre. I would like to thank the staff involved in that trip, Miss Barber and Mrs Anderson, and special thank you to the children themselves, they were superbly behaved throughout.
The other year 4 class had to miss out due to extreme weather conditions. They will be going in April and I am sure will have just as good a time as their friends in Blue 2.
UNIFORM
We ask that uniform is worn as a means of giving us a school identity and in the belief that it eases the burden of early morning disagreements! The school colours are jade / royal blue / silver grey.
All uniform items can be purchased from the National Schoolwear Centre, Northgate Street, Gloucester. Items available in the store that are specific to Abbeymead include:-
Jade sweatshirts and cardigans with logo Ties (including elasticated)
Jade T-shirts White polo shirts with school logo
Royal blue shorts P.E. and book bags
Please note that many of the High Street stores stock standard uniform items and it is always worth shopping around for the best value.
Shorter-length grey trousers may be worn in summer. Suitable dark-coloured shoes should be worn, with separate P.E. footwear (e.g. trainers) available for use outdoors when appropriate.
Although watches are encouraged, it is best if other jewellery and precious possessions are not brought to school.
Since many items turn up without owners and are never reclaimed, it is important to label your child?s clothes. Order forms for name tabs are available from many outlets, including the National Schoolwear Centre. Please don?t assume missing items are stolen! Children often leave clothing in odd places so there?s a delay before owner and garment are reunited.
LOST PROPERTY
Our lost property box regularly overflows with items of clothes, shoes, trainers, scarves, water bottles, bags etc?? Please note that from now on we will regularly be removing items that haven?t been labelled clearly and haven?t been reclaimed. If your child loses something at school, please make sure that they check the lost property box straight away. May we remind you that any items that are labelled clearly will be sent back to their owners.
BIKES
As our weather warms up I am sure that more of our older children will be coming to school on their bikes. Please note that there are few simple rules to remember:
Ø These are to be bought into school at your own risk
Ø All riders MUST dismount before coming onto the school site
Ø All bikes must be padlocked to the appropriate bike racks during the school day and must
remain there until school ends
Ø Children are responsible for their own padlock key and cycle helmet
Ø If space in the racks becomes an issue, priority will be given to those children who use bikes
as their main form of transport to and from school.
