Music
Children study concepts and skills related to the four strands of music: performing, composing, listening and appraising. They will experience a breadth of style, period and culture through a variety of opportunities, exploring their own musical ideas while using our excellent range of tuned and untuned percussion instruments.

Peripatetic music teachers give tuition in school. For a termly fee your child can both hire and learn to play an instrument. Clarinet, flute, violin, cello, brass instruments and guitar are taught at the moment.

There is an additional (free) opportunity for children from Y2 - Y6 to learn to play the recorder at our after-school club. Those with a particular interest in singing are welcome to join our infant or junior choirs, and we also have a school band which enables all those children learning instruments to perform pieces of music together as an ensemble.
