World Awareness Week Japan Year 4

Year 4 started their study of Japan by watching the video diary of a 10-year-old Japanese boy, following his experiences at home, school and at leisure. This gave a fascinating insight into modern day Japan.

The children surfed the internet to find information about Japan.
They also had a T'ai Chi lesson with John Llewellyn giving a taster of oriental meditation and spiritual awareness.

One particularly memorable morning was the visit from the origami club at Barnwood Park School. Nine girls from year 7, 8 and 9 demonstrated their considerable skills in the art of paper folding and taught year 4 how to make star boxes, Samurai helmets, hearts, kites and football shirts
