World Awareness Week Peru Year 5

As well as all the activities from the mind map above, one of the highlights of the week was the visit from Kausary, a four- piece band from the mountain area of Peru.
The band led a workshop for the children where they explored the differences between Britain and Peru, explained Peruvian customs and traditions, demonstrated how to play the instruments they brought with them and talked about the importance of music in their lives.

To finish the workshop the band was expanded to include the children playing a wide variety of instruments and wearing traditional costumes.
This was followed by a performance for the whole school in the afternoon, a great experience that recreated the atmosphere of a Peruvian festival.
